YOU CANNOT FULFIL THIS ROLE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE *** Requirements Our client a successful independent dealer are looking for a motor trade Dealership Accountant based in Chelmsford with a salary of around £35-50k depending on experience. Have you got motor trade Accounts experience? Are you an experienced Accountant or Assistant Accountant looking for a step up? Do you want to work for a growing company where you can have a real input into the daily running’s of the company? If so please read on. Job Description Ensure by means of regular reviews that the postings made by the Accounting staff are accurate and are carried out on a timely basis, to ensure that the records reviewed by the Directors are up to date and meaningful. Monthly Prepare all month end Accruals and Prepayments Accrue for Commissions and Bonuses Prepare the monthly payroll and make submissions to HMRC Review Stock weekly and advise the Operations Director of potential problems Reconcile Stocking Loans to the Nominal Ledger every month but monitor daily Reconcile Finance Income statements to the Vehicle ledger. Review debit backs with the Business Managers and report findings to the Operations Director Reconcile HP Settlements to the Vehicle Ledger every month but monitor daily Reconcile all Balance Sheet Accounts in the required format Prepare Accounts to Management Accounts by no later than the 20th day of the following month. Review the Management Accounts with the Operations Director Review the Management Accounts with the Departmental Managers Review and report on trends or unusual levels of expense. Review Debtors with the Sales Managers at least once per week and report findings to the Operations Director at least once per month. Quarterly Complete the VAT return Carry out a formal Appraisal of each member of the Accounts team Annually Work with departmental managers to produce annual budgets and to present these to the Directors. Make the necessary adjustments as required by the Directors and review the output with the Directors Assist in the production of the Statutory Accounts Complete the Annual PAYE submissions General Motivate, develop and encourage the Accounting Team in order to help their careers develop and their contribution increase. Be the eyes and ears of the Company advising the Operations Director of anything that might be cause for concern. Ensure that Company Policies and Procedures are being carried out efficiently Carry out Internal Audits as directed by the Operations Director Work with the Departmental Managers in order to improve their understanding of the management accounts and Pinnacle reports so as to enable them to use these reports to identify areas for improvement. Attend and contribute to internal meetings.
